AIRES' 2027 is designed not only as a venue for scholarly exchange but also as a catalyst for sustained international collaboration on AI risks and safeguards in education.
A key outcome of the symposium will be the establishment of the AIRES Taskforce on AI Risks and Safeguards in Education, an international multidisciplinary network bringing together researchers, educators, students, policymakers, quality assurance agencies, civil society organizations, and industry representatives.
Unlike many academic symposiums that conclude when participants return home, AIRES is designed to produce tangible outputs through a collaborative process that unfolds throughout the symposium itself. Participants will have opportunities to contribute to discussions, interactive sessions, synthesis sessions, and roadmap activities that inform the symposium's strategic outcomes.
Together, participants will contribute to:
The AIRES symposium Statement, outlining shared principles and priorities for addressing AI risks in education;
The AIRES Global Roadmap, identifying priority actions for research, policy, governance, educational practice, and institutional capacity building;
The establishment of the AIRES Taskforce, which will provide a foundation for ongoing international collaboration beyond the symposium;
Future collaborative research, policy initiatives, and communities of practice focused on responsible AI in education.
Dedicated synthesis and roadmap sessions will be incorporated into the symposium programme to ensure that participants can actively contribute to the development of these outputs. Also, symposium participants will have the opportunity to express interest in becoming members of the AIRES Taskforce and contributing to its future activities following the symposium.
